Why the cartoons are made such a fuss?

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
I was typing the above sentence in Microsoft Word 2003, and the greetings are underlined red saying that I have misspelled these words. The best greeting that a man could ever use are known to them as just some misspelled words. Interesting...

Lately there is a big fuss about the cartoons with the purpose to insult the “Greatest Man Ever Lived” in the world. He is the man that Muslims choose to love more than they love themself. The man that had brought the only way of life that is accepted by the Creator of the Heavens and Earth.

In Malaysia alone, the Sarawak Tribune’s permit to print, sell, circulate and operate was revoked by the government. And throughout the world, anywhere where Muslims live, there are protests and rejection towards such cartoons. An editor of a newspaper made a statement, saying that it is hard for fools to understand such cartoons. Maybe some are thinking that Muslim’s are a little too sensitive about this issue. Since the Christians accept such jokes on their prophet, Isa (Jesus), why can’t Muslims do the same?

There is a story that I heard during the Jumaat prayers few years back. It goes like this.
Once there was a Jew who went to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and inquired about his prophetness. He asked whether the prophet could stand with one leg. Then, he asked whether He could stand by lifting both legs. Then, he laughed at the prophet teasing him of not being able to do so. The Prophet Muhammad (Salallahualiwassallam) asked the Jew to meet Umar Al-Khattab and tell him what happened here. Well, the Jew went and did as told; after listening to the story Umar's reaction was to drew his sword and slay that Jew off his head.

This is how sensitive we should be when it comes to our prophet. We must make him our role model and defend his name. No jokes about the prophet, this goes to everyone. Friends, close friends, Muslims, Non-Muslims or anybody you could ever be!
